What We Do

The McGrath Family Foundation is a philanthropic partner of nonprofits to improve communities throughout the Santa Barbara region. Through its giving, the Foundation seeks to fulfill its mission of supporting efforts that address the needs of underserved populations and improve their quality of life. The Foundation offers grants within several different program areas.

Youth Development

We aim to help young people of all ages develop the knowledge, skills, and real-world experience they need to reach their full potential and contribute positively to their communities. We partner with nonprofits that empower youth to grow academically, socially, and emotionally, with an emphasis on out-of-school time programming.

We recognize the profound impact of the arts in challenging perspectives, inspiring action, and enriching lives. We partner with cultural institutions to promote access to arts and cultural programming and to champion strategies that integrate the arts as vital components of thriving communities.

Health & Wellness

We understand that nonprofits play a critical role in reducing health disparities and bridging service gaps. By partnering with organizations devoted to increasing equitable access to healthy food, recreational spaces, healthcare and mental wellness services, we are investing in a healthier future for our entire community.
